Leonard Christopher is a man that was wrongfully accused of a murders in the Frankford Pennsylvania area during the late 80s and early 90s. Leonard Christopher is a black man that was deprived of his rights because the police were being pressured and had failed to make any arrest. Leonard was apprehended on May 5 of 1990 with inadequate evidence and no DNA to link him to any of the murders. The only eyewitness testimony are of two prostitutes that claimed they had seen Leonard with the deceased, with that being said Leonard Christopher was never granted a new trial. Today Leonard remains incarcerated serving his life sentenceat the State Correctional Instution Huntingdon in Pennsylvannnia. There's a pattern of convicting innocent people which is unconstitutional. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? How can we presume this man is guilty when the case is full of insufficient evidence? All the murder cases remain open unsolved. Most certainly cannot go back and change the past but we can see the future of a innocent man.

Details of the case

1. The two and only witnesses of the case are two drug addict prostitutes with a significant lengthy criminal record.

2. When the police had arrested Christopher there were no signs of injuries, no physical evidence or any murder weapon that supported he could be linked to any of the crime scenes.

3. While Leonard Christopher was incarcerated the Frankford slasher remained at large claiming his ninth victim Michelle Dehner, 30 killed September 6, 1990

My birth mother was the ninth victim and I always believed this man was not her murder

Sadly, Mr. Christopher died in prison several years ago. I was proud to represent him in his fight to clear his name.

I was in a car with the man who fits the sketch of the Frankford Slasher, he tried to kill me. I never went to the police but I just read this article and I believe Leonard Christopher was wrongfully convicted

As a true crime writer, having read up on this case, I believe Leonard was a witness to the murder and nothing more. This explains how he knew the details of the crime, yet did not commit it.

I read about this and couldn't believe it! A black man convicted of a white serial killer's work, and another murder with the same MO happened AFTER?? How is this not causing more scrutiny? The killer still walks -- he DID kill someone else after this man was imprisoned, how is it helpful or okay in anyway to have an innocent man charged with and imprisoned for another man's crimes?

This man was wrongfully convicted and never set free AFTER someone else admitted to the crime. The criminal justice system is a joke!
