I live in California and I use balisong or butterfly knife flipping to help me from my addiction to nicotine. When I flip my knife while I'm on my breaks at work I feel calm and relaxed and focused. I refrain from cigarette smoking, when I have something to do. I enjoy Balisong flipping.

Personally, they're legal where I live. But a large portion of people dont want them for wrong doing, but for leisure activities. It's like saying "you could hit someone with that baseball bat" yeah, i could, but i wont.

It's slower to open a butterfly than a spring knife, but those are still legal?? And it's the person who kills people, not the knife

Balisongs are used more as a tool and as an artform doing various openings and closings and everything else in between. They should be legal to own and carry.
