Landscaping at Palmetto Shores, SC
We are concerned residents of Palmetto Shores in Chapin, South Carolina. We are requesting Mungo Homes fulfill the promises made to us when we purchased our homes in Palmetto Shores regarding landscaping along Old Lexington Highway from the development property line north of Pawtucket Way to Quail Walk Trail, including the property on the NW corner of Old Lex. and Quail Walk, behind pool 2. Mungo Homes’ representative verbally promised that Mungo Homes would install a landscaping buffer along that road corridor like that along Palmetto Shores Phase 1 on Old Lexington Highway, south from Quail Walk Trail to Brookridge Dr.
Derek Duplack, Landscape Administrator, Community Development, Lexington County, is willing to review a landscape plan submitted by Mungo Homes for the road corridor in question. To date the county has not received such a plan.
In addition, Mungo promised at the time of signing to landscape the area on Brewster Court on the right (currently high grass, dirt and rocks) and complete and landscape the access road to the retention pond at the bottom of Pawtucket Way.
With the imminent turnover of the Palmetto Shores HOA, we are respectfully requesting that we, the residents, receive a commitment in writing from Mungo Homes by Feb, 28, 2026 that they will
1) create a landscaping plan, to include the road corridor described above and the corner of Quail Walk Trail and Old Lexington Hwy. by pool 2
2) submit this plan to the county for review
3) create landscape plans for the section n Brewster Ct. and the access road to the Pawtucket Way retention basin
4) cover the complete costs of these landscaping plans and their implementation
4) complete these projects no later than June 30, 2026.
We are making this request in good faith that Mungo Homes will do the right thing and restore our trust in your good name by delivering on the promises made to us at the time we contracted with Mungo for our homes in Palmetto Shores.
