The city needs to change the way traffic runs on Valley Central Way in Lancaster, CA. It is very unsafe due to its wide turns and no traffic stops. My wife was hit by a person on her phone going over the speed limit and the city should be held accountable. There are blind spots all along this street. The city needs to put in stop signs, take out the bike lane to make it a two lane street again and reduce the speed due to the high foot traffic that crosses the street without any Yeild for pedestrian signs. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt. By signing this petition you will help create more public safety in our city. Thank you.

im still reading through all the stories people are sending in about their own close calls on valley central way. it is honestly wild how many of us have felt unsafe on this same road and i am working on getting our points over to the city council members this week.

Too long of a street and it does not have stop signs. People leaving the stores struggle to see if cars are coming so they will end up cutting people off. Really dangerous.
They're should definitely be more stop signs!
I agree. I've heard of death's happening there and have many times concerned with getting in an accident there. I Dont think they need to change the speed limit but I do believe they should make the two way stops 4 way stops.
There should be more stop signs.
I've always been afraid of those streets. I'm glad someone is trying to change it

My wife was in an accident here and its not fair that this happened to her due to the cities lack of traffic planning

Need to take out the bike lanes on Valley Central around Walmart and 15West around KAISER that no cyclist ever uses. It creates mess with traffic with vehicles trying to get out of parking lots into busy 1 Lane streets.
