As a lifelong resident of Laguna Niguel, alumnus of Moulton Elementary School, Niguel Hills Junior High, and Dana Hills High School I feel fortunate to have been able to experience the enrichment that comes with cultural exposure. While in my graduate studies at MIT, I am most fortunate to have been surrounded by the deep and rich tapestry of art, music, theater, and architecture of Boston while at the same time having the freedom to enjoy the academic inspiration this can help to develop in young and creative minds focused on new innovation and discovery. A cultural center in Laguna Niguel would be a great jump start to seed this inspiration in the youth of both Laguna Niguel and for all Orange County residents. I'm surprised an open canvas space like these lots would be converted to develop county leased housing rather than an area that will help longer term growth and diversification within the community. I'm strongly in favor of a cultural center and museum on this site and hope the petition is effective to show our community solidarity to do what's right for our long term prosperity instead of short term focused returns.

The city would benefit from a cultural center. Our children, tourists and residents would benefit. Real estate values would increase and the city could generate more income. Great idea! We have enough apartments which is why Laguna Niguel is so appealing compared to cities with an abundance of apartments like Aliso Viejo.

We need a community cultural center in our town. I have lived here for 28 years and have always hoped that the city would develop a REAL Town Center. A place where the townspeople can gather. A place to enjoy cultural activities, music , art shows perhaps a Farmers Market. We have a beautiful new City Hall and Library and it seems a shame to not use this opportunity to unify the complex into a true Town Center that will make Laguna Niguel an even more unique and family-centric place to live and also to visit for fun, cultural and educational purposes. Please consider this as this piece of property is the only location that has the opportunity to give this town a unifying center for all the people rather than just a pretty place to have your house. This is a chance to affect the character of Laguna Niguel for generations to come. Please be open to the vision!

I can't believe that an apartment building would even be considered in this area. I moved to Laguna Niguel because I believed it focused on family life. Apartments bring in a different kind of population. They are usually not families. A culural center would enrich the lives of our citizens and make our city a better place. The OC Board of Supervisors must have some hidden agenda that is definitely not in the interests of the people!!
