The meeting date is finally set and we have forced the local back toward compliance. It has been a long and draining struggle to get here but we succeeded. We need to stay focused on these proceedings to ensure the requested changes actually happen.

OPSEU 560 General Membership Meeting

OPSEU Local 560 would like to hold a General Meeting of Members (GMM). The OPSEU constitution Article 29 states in part that a GMM should occur twice a year and also that “A special general meeting of the Local shall be convened upon the written request of at least ten per cent of the membership.”
Our Local is not being operated in accordance with many of the provisions of Article 29 including budget approvals and officer elections.
To get back to compliance the undersigned are requesting that a special general meeting of the Local be convened. This meeting will be either virtual or hybrid to comply with local health guidance. An agenda will be provided in advance of the meeting.
By signing this petition you affirm that you are a member in good standing of OPSEU Local 560.

The feedback from members has been heavy and revealing because the lack of transparency is affecting so many of us. I have been spending my nights reviewing the constitution and tracking down the right channels to force this meeting. It is exhausting work but we cannot afford to let the current dysfunction remain the status quo.

About time we got back to being in compliance. Been waiting for this for way too long.
this is long overdue. follow the rules and lets have a meeting.
Get it together guys. We deserve to know whats going on with the chapter.
Finally. Tired of being kept in the dark about how our leadership is running things.
Its about time we had some transparency with the budget. We need a meeting ASAP.
