Please keep this great service to the community open. Our children need it. It made a huge difference in my son life.

Stop taking programs away from children. Your teasing them you offer Karate then say oh sorry not sorry we canceled the program. Kids who go during after school programs their parents might not have the money or time to take them during other times.

This is OUTRAGEOUS! A 22 year relationship is ending and the parks dept claims they are severing ties with non-parks related entities???? How about the RESTAURANT that will be opening in McCarren Park???? How is that benefitting children? How is it combating childhood obesity? How is that working towards building confidence in children and stomping out bullying???? This is not right. Smells like greed once again wins out over doing what’s right for the community.

Please help us fight for our kids’ rights and their healthy future!

I truly believe that our kids need this Martial Arts program as it teaches them to self discipline and respect to others, follow the rules, be more organized, train not only their bodies but their minds as well. The recreation center itself offers many various activities, but Karate classes at the Lost Battalion, became its essential part and kids go there for years. Please, dear officials who are able to help, dedicate your valuable time to support Murphy's Martial Arts and us concerned parents! Thank you!

Dennis Murphy is the absolute best instructor in so many ways! He is extremely knowledgeable in Martial Arts, has a great personality that everyone loves, keeps classes interesting, and encourages all of his students to be the best they can possibly be! Dennis was my sensei years ago when he taught me kickboxing and it was one of the absolute best things I've ever done in my life. KEEP THIS GOING!! SO MANY KIDS BENEFIT FROM HIS CLASSES!! DON'T TAKE THIS AWAY FROM THEM!!!

ive been going for 4 years and i am 15 now but i’ve made connection with so many of the people there over the years. i’ve learned so much from them and it breaks my heart knowing i may never see or work with them again. if they would be able to stay i know it’s put a smile on so many peoples faces.
