Rockville High School is and always should be ROCKVILLE ROX! Our ROX MAN mascot is unique and I think stands out. I love it when people see my sweatshirt with our blue and white with ROX...it gets attention "What's a ROX?". I proudly reply "Home of the Rox Man, Rockville High School where I graduated!"

They already have a park named Turkey Run so let the park be their legacy and let the good folks of Rockville keep their name.

At the previous school board meeting, our superintendent stated that the cost of "rebranding" the schools would be $130,000 for each of the 4 buildings. I thought the idea was to save money, not throw away over a half a mil on an unnecessary name change.

I personally saw this happen to my school, they consolidated with other school districts, named the sports teams Storm, and it never again felt like my school. I hate to see this happen to the school all my children went to !

I went to both schools and it's disappointing we have to resort to consolidation but a lot of communities have had to in these hard times and I'm sure a lot of people didn't like the change but it's something that needed done. I think we all should see it as a new and fresh beginning and to have a name that can be shared. It's not fair for the one school to be trump. Look at Riverton Parke for instance, they have learned to come to accept it as a shared community school and new beginning. Our alumnus will still be what they are and proud to be what they become. We need to worry more about coming together not fighting over a name. It's a new beginning give the kids a name they can share and become just as proud of. We're talking about a future here not the past.

Don't change the school name. The school is still in Rockville. You shouldn't rename a school that is apart of history just because schools are congregating together. Let Rockville still have its name regardless of who goes there now.

I hate the thought of anyone having to change anything but apparently its bound to happen...whatever the decision is I sure hope the adults act like adults and not lil kids...having said that my personal opinion is the grade schools remain their original names, and if the decision is to make T.R. the middle school for all area students, again, leave it the same, and if Rockville is where the high schoolers will be attending, leave it as well...both schools histories will remain in tact with the exception that now middle school is the highest you can attend as a T.R. Warrior...just a well rounded compromise i think...
