Keep Lorrena "Missy" Whitehead at the Glen St. Mary Post Office
Lorrena “Missy” Whitehead has been a valuable employee of the United States Postal Service for almost 27 years. She has been particularly valuable at the Glen St. Mary office for 21 years.
Throughout her time in Glen she has built an amazing rapport with every co-worker and customer to enter. Her customers rely on her in-depth knowledge of the USPS' available services and products.
She goes above and beyond her call of duty as a postal clerk. She organizes community functions that bring our residents, your customers, together to support the many needs and causes of our community; such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Black History Month, local field trips, etc. Just this last year, she put together a walk/run that not only raised awareness for Breast Cancer, but also boosted the sales of the Glen office. Missy asked students from the community school to participate in a Breast Cancer Awareness poster contest. She, along with the second grade classes at Westside Elementary, coordinated multiple field trips to the Glen Post Office to teach children the importance of the post office, how to write a letter, the different jobs within an office, and other worthwhile information. These meaningful events would NOT happen without her cooperation.
This same school, Westside Elementary, also asked her to participate in our REACH program where important community leaders are asked to come and read to a class. This raises awareness for the importance of reading and reading within a job. She eagerly volunteered to support this special day.
She is an integral part of this office, has helped thousands of customers, and is the reason this office is so wonderful to deal with and maintains such loyal customers. Transferring her from this office will cause a huge detriment to the income of this office and impact it’s customers. Please consider this plea. She is a very important part of our small community and would be terribly missed.
