We the parents of the children with special needs, who attend the Bridges program, at Luther Burbank Middle School, have witnessed countless acts of reckless driving through the parking lot, by the foods teacher Lisa Raluy. A complaint was put in last year, yet nothing has changed. She comes to school late, often speeding, and lets us know we are in her way.

We REQUIRE a safe environment to drop off our kids. Some of children have great challenges getting to school in the morning and we need to a safe space to help them to the gate. Her parking spot is the closest one to that gate and she is often seen driving quickly into her spot while we are trying to enter the school, showing little regard for the kids and has even complained to the special needs bus driver for “blocking her in” .

When our children started here, we were told the drop off and pick up in the Bridges lot was to ensure safety and we appreciate that very much. However, that safety is compromised when we have to jump out of the way of the foods teacher as she enters through the exit and comes barreling through a crowd of special needs kids.

We ASK that her parking spot be moved to a different lot so that we may have a greater assurance or our children’s safety when we drop off and pick up the the kids who attend Bridges.
