Please keep AR at Red.

As a former Red parent, AR was an amazing tool not just for my strong reader but for my child who took a little longer to develop reading skills. It would be a terrible shame to lost this program.

Biblinosium looks like it will be more work for children, parents and teachers. Please don't change something that already works and helps our kids read and comprehend their reading.

Altho I don't have a student at Red....I AM the grandmother of a former student who benefited GREATLY from the AR program. I would like for my other grandchild, who has several more years at Red, to have the benefit of the AR PROGRAM also.

The AR program did wonders for my daughter, her reading skills and habits. I fully support this program and believe it would be a deservice to our school to do away with such a wonderful and proven tool.

The AR program has been a great tool which we use at home to continue to encourage reading. The AR point system is one that we as parents appreciate. It gives a competitive atmosphere between students which I particularly enjoy especially when I find my son asking for books based on the amount of AR points rather than the pretty pictures.

Keep AR at Red! It has worked well for my child. We do not need more online busywork for such young children.

Please keep the AR program. I think after kids learn how it works, it is a very successful program. My son actually looked forward to taking the comprehension tests and getting the points. From what I hear about the other program I believe AR is a better fit for our school. I also feel that changing the program to an entirely new one will cause a lot of confusion and frustration for parents and teachers. Please keep the AR program

While it may be frustrating having the points reset at inconvenient times, I do feel like it has helped my kids with comprehension. I would like to continue to see it at the school.

The AR program helped my daughter with reading more and comprehending what she was reading. It helped for myself and her father to be able to keep track of how much she read and the level of which she is reading. We saw a great improvement and would like to see it return.

For a parent with a child who would rather do anything but read, the AR program helps encourage reading and tests comprehension - 2 very important skills that he can use throughout life.

I like the AR program just because it keeps my kids reading, and the quiz are simple and online. I wasn't an avid reader growing up. So, seeing my children excited to read excites me also. AR in my opinion is a program to keep kids reading and to build their comprehension skills. That is my main love of AR.

AR has provided me with the peace of mind knowing that my child has read is actually being comprehended. I've already seen the decline in motivation in my household to finish a book and furthermore, have no clue if my children can be reading more challenging books or need to be directed to lower level books. Additionally, I have heard my kids engage with children from other schools on AR books - how many points their book was that they were reading, what they made on the test and how many overall AR points they had for the year. I am strongly against Red eliminating AR.

As a Real Men Read volunteer for 7 years at Red, I have seen the benefits of the AR program and always started each reading by asking if the class took an AR test on the book we read previously. To me, the most important thing is that it tests the student’s comprehension of the book.

AR is essential to the reading culture at Red which is very much why we chose the school. When my son learned at open house AR might be replaced he screamed out "nooooo!" He is motivated by and engaged in AR.
