Kentucky’s First Steps program is a statewide early intervention system that offers comprehensive services to children with developmental disabilities from birth to age three. The First Steps program provides eligible children with access to a variety of service professionals (e.g., audiologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physicians). However, notably missing from the list of services offered through the First Steps program is behavior analysis. Adding behavior analysts, assistant behavior analysts, and behavior technicians to First Steps’ list of qualified service providers will allow eligible children the opportunity to receive evidenced-based treatment from professionals specifically trained in the application of behavior analysis.

My own child needed these services early on and I know how vital this work is for families across our state. We are almost at one hundred signatures so please send the link to someone who understands why we must include behavior analysis in First Steps.

Early intervention is key. If we ignore this we are failing our children.
My son needs this so bad. Please help us get the right people in there to help these kids.
This is long overdue for KY families. ABA works wonders and these kids deserve every chance to succeed early on.
WHY is this not already included?? My daughter deserves access to qualified professionals. do the right thing.

The science is there. Just provide the service. Stop making parents jump through hoops for basic care.
