PETITION TO KENYA POWER ON BEHALF OF RESIDENTS OF GREATWALL APARTMENTS -MSA RD.

SYNOPSIS:

GreatWall Apartments (Phase 1 to 3) on Mombasa Road has experienced Power outages the last Five Sundays lasting from 8 or 9am to as late as 9pm -10pm.

This is replicated all over the Country and particularly in Nairobi and Machakos Counties.

NOW THIS HUMBLE PETITION states as follows:

1. BEING clients of the Kenya Power Company and residents of GREATWALL APARTMENTS PHASE 1-3 on Beijing Road off Mombasa Road affected by the routine and endemic outages that directly impact over 1, 000 families and which occur EVERY Sunday from 9am to as late as 10pm, and;

2. BEING clients of Kenya Power affected by the numerous outages and blackouts being evidenced across the Country and willing to enjoin in this Petition to express a common intention.

3. TAKING COGNIZANCE of the fact that as Clients of Kenya Power we are entitled to basic Consumer rights as set out both in the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.

4. RECOGNIZING that the Kenya Power Company has a duty to attend to Client needs timeously and with a human face and resolve pending issues as and when they arise.

a. IMMEDIATELY address the endemic issue of Power Shortages affecting GreatWall Apartment Phases 1 -3 on Beijing off Mombasa road in particular and the nationwide outages in General.

b. RESOLVE to timeously respond to queries by Customers with factual and accurate information.

c. OPERATE within its motto and mandate of “powering people for better lives” by ensuring that any outages are reduced to a bare minimum and a resolution is arrived at timeously for endemic issues.
