Without a doubt, Mr Hill should be prosecuted to the complete extent allowed by law. This person is the worst kind of criminal and his act warrants punishment, not a slap on the wrist. If you let him get away with this, what is the message you'll be sending to others in our industry.

Stealing grapes valued at $800K is a felony not a misdemeanor, the judge in this case needs to review what constitutes a felony.

It would be the thought of most level minded citizens of the United States of America that not all thefts are equal. Stealing a stick of gum is a misdemeanor, stealing grapes from your employer costing him $800,000 is not a misdemeanor and Mr. Hill needs to pay for his crime by doing time in jail, as well as reimburse Mr. Del Dotto for his lost revenue. If Mr. Hill is not punished severely for his crime, what is to stop him from doing it again? As well, what is to stop any other dishonest employee from stealing knowing that if he/she gets caught it will be a "slap on the wrist."

The plea bargain already reduced Mr. Hill's potential ramifications. Reducing his act further to a misdemeanor, is an insult to the justice system.

A reduction in sentencing in a case like this would be ridiculous!! A straightforward crime like this should result in a logical sentence.

Any lefts regardless of cost need to punished. In this case I see no reason to have this reduced from a felony and the cost was substantial and needs to be punished. Without consequences there is no reason him for this person to not do this again or maybe larger.

As an attorney, I wholeheartedly agree that the value of what was stolen must be considered - $800,000 constitutes Grand Theft and should be punished accordingly.
