Speak out to the Napa DA in support of just punishment for felons who steal grapes

Would a bank robber be given a misdemeanor for stealing $800,000 or even $8,000? And what upsets me, is he stole from people he worked for and drank wine with, I am sure.

The punishment needs to correlate with the crime that occurred. This should be a felony.

To grant a plea agreement to Jeffery Hill that would reduce his felony crime of grand theft to a misdemeanor would be a travesty to our justice system. Mr. Hill is guilty of grand theft and should be held accountable as such.

I am in support of a felony conviction. Mr Hill should have the charges upheld for grand theft and not reduced due to a plea bargain. By doing so we are not holding people accountable for their actions and not teaching our youth that there are serious consequences for committing such crimes but rather send the message that it's okay because you will have an opportunity to cut a deal.
