Joe Porter of Chicago aka Joseph Edward Porter, age 40 b.1980 needs mental help. He has been sending threats of violence to multiple people through email, craigslist, and other internet communication over the past 5+ years. He often specifically describes how he will mutilate someone in random outburts that have no connection to reality.

Police do not help us at all, so all we can do is put out this smoke signal to warn others about this individual, and hope his parents or anyone who might care him can get him to seek mental help, switch medications etc. If no action is taken, this person is bound to hurt someone someday.

Under Illinois law, cyberstalking is specifically defined act and is punishable by prison time under the law. Cyberstalking is a class four felony. Class four felonies are punishable by one to three years in prison. Additionally, a fine of up to $25,000 could be imposed.
