Returning the marbles to the country and site of origin shows willingness to move forward. They are not a top attraction currently because the museum is not the Acropolis!

The English Museum has benefited financially for hundred years ...the Phidias sculptures must be returned and financial retribution for keeping them and also for the damage thief Elgin has created to theParthenon building...

Χέρι κομμένο γεμάτο από Φως·
πέτρα απ’ τα σπλάχνα μου,
απ’ τα μύχια μου με πόνο βγαλμένο,
κύτταρο της ψυχής μου αιμάτινο,
πιο πέρα κι απ’ των ματιών τον ορίζοντα…
Ασελγήσαν στη γη μου ζωγράφοι ρυτίδων·
της ψυχής μου τα κύτταρα ήλγυναν,
τι, ξεδιάντροπα ορφνόφεγγοι
το κορμί και το φως μου «ελγινήσαν».
Ναι, δια του Έλγιν το Φως ελγινήσαν!
Έλγιν! Στους αιώνες το όνομα βέβηλο·
στους αιώνες των αιώνων ανάθεμα·
στων ανθρώπων τα δρώμενα σκότος.
Φωτερά μου πετράδια του πνεύματος,
της ψυχής μου κλεμμένα στολίδια,
φυλακή στης ντροπής το μουσείο
και με άλλων ψυχών, ομού, τα μνημεία,
μ’ αλυσίδες δεμένα.
Ποιός Νόμος, ποιό Φως και ποιό Δίκιο
θα μπορούσε ποτέ να στεριώσει
τούτη δω τη βέβηλη πράξη!
Μόν’ το σκότος μπορεί
να χαρίσει προφάσεις.
Μόν’ το σκότος κι η όρφνη, Ελγίνε,
του κάλους, μολευτή, του ατόφιου,
και του ωραίου και τ’ αληθινού χαλαστή,
μόν’ το σκότος για σύμμαχο έχεις.
Μόν’ το σκότος μπορεί
να φωτίσει αποτρόπαιο τέτοιο τοπίο.
Τί τοπίο, αλί! Να! Μουσείο κλοπής του φωτός!

Apart from the moral question, Athens now has a much better place to exhibit them than where the Britsh Museum has them
