Please look for an alternate location. There are many options in non-residential areas, away from elementary schools.

Really?! A substation right next to a grade school? Are you looking for a lawsuit? This is crazy. Everyone already views Duke Energy as being one of the most heartless companies in NC. Surely Duke has another property with less impact on the community where they can build the substation. In addition to the concerns of it being so close to the school, the substation will have a negative impact on Asheville's most historic neighborhood. Montford is a high tourism area, and we have to consider that.In addition to its location near a school, the substation will have a negative impact on Asheville's most historic neighborhood. Montford is a high tourism area, and we have to consider that. Tourism is a huge economic driver in our region.

Children's safety first. Next to an elementary school is NO place for a substation.
