I ran as an independent candidate for Mayor of Maple Ridge in 2014, refusing to accept funding from business, organized labour or any special interest group. I wanted to represent the interests of all the residents of Maple Ridge. My campaign slogan was "Common Ground for the Common Good". I lost in spectacular fashion.
I am giving some thought to running again now that corporate and union donations have been banned. Before I make my decision to run again, I want to hear from the people of Maple Ridge. If 2,000 Maple Ridge residents sign this petition, I will run for Mayor. Let's see what happens.
I know Gary will ask smart, pointed questions, provoke discussion and keep everyone on their toes. These are all good reasons for us to hear from Gary and his campaign for Mayor.
