We bought a house this year and had to cross Huron county off of our list because of the lack of French immersion. If it had been available we would likely be living there now.

This is way overdue. I was searching for this option almost 15 years ago, and the only one available was at St Mary's. We need to bring this option to ALL of our children-not just the urban ones!
It would be wonderful to see the same educational opportunities for the children in Huron as in Perth.

offering the french language in ontario canada is a must - small town or big city, all kids should have this option and to be able to enjoy the benefit of being a multi-lingual citizen

We are also collecting a seperate form for families with children who are interested in French Immersion. This is so we can show the board how many children ( and year they were born) that want to enrol. Please email [email protected] or find our Facebook group "Huron County Parents for French Immersion for forms, questions or comments.

I cannot say enough in this small space about how strongly I feel about French Immersion. We live in a bilingual country and ALL Canadians have the right to expect to be offered the choice of attending a French Immersion program in their community. Indeed, having a second language can provide many more chances for a successful future.
