I am shocked that we do not have one regulation girls softball field in Somers! What message are we sending to our female athletes, especially the Varsity Girls Softball team? The girls deserve a regulation field!

My daughter is just beginning her softball experience in Somers and it has been so confusing not knowing where we are playing week to week and not actually playing on a feild but just in the grass.

A program starts with a sense of value. This field would demonstrate to softball families that this town values this program, which it hasn't done for many years.

It is beyond belief that a town as wonderful as Somers has discriminated against our girls for so long. I am embarrassed of and for our Parks & Rec Board.

I've gone through the program for 12 years now and I can honestly say that softball has shaped me into the young lady I am. It is embarassing that the year is 2015 and the girls dont have ONE regulation designated field with the right dimensions meanwhile the boys have several. The town of Somers should be ashamed of themselves.
