I think the campus should have therapy dogs. They are a stress reliever for all students especially new freshman adjusting to college life.

Ivy is being singled out there are still other dogs and cats living in the residence halls and being brought to work by employees this isn't right.

As a US Army Cavalry veteran, I know many of my battle buddies who rely on therapy dogs to help cope with PTSD and/or depression. Students at URI may not have the same problems as those soldiers, campus life is stressful and lonely for many residents and commuters. Whenever I saw Ivy on campus, she was making everyone around her laugh, smile, and forget about the day's problems if only for a while. That's the power of a therapy dog. URI deserves Ivy, and Ivy deserves to come here.

I strongly believe that animals should be permitted on the URI campus, especially animals like Ivy. They provide a lot of emotional support which is a very key role in success in college. If this petition gets put down, I will be even more extremely disappointed in this university.

As an alumni I think having a therapy dog in the resident halls is a great thing for the students and something that should be encouraged, not banned!

Therapy dogs are allowed in hospitals, rehab centers, care centers, schools, and so many other places. They help students with disabilities, home sickness and remind them of gentleness and familial ideals. Taking away Ivy was a terrible decision, now it's on you to remedy it.

Animal Facilitated Therapy has been shown to relieve stress. Papers have probably come from our own University. Wake up!

Dogs brighten the lives of college students. It gives us a sense of comfort and is a rare sighting being far away from home. Please bring Ivy back!

Please do the right thing. Reinstate Ivy. It's the humane and intelligent thing to do. Thank you.
