Devon is a close friend of our nephew's and we have known him for many years. He is very simply a nice kid. While we understand that recent events have reminded us all of the need for security in this modern world, we would hate to see someone's life destroyed over an admittedly tasteless joke.

I've known Devon since he was born. A parent couldn't ask for a better son. He is genuinely caring of others and well liked by everyone. It's an extremely scary situation to find out that the police have students spying on others. Thus is dangerous on so many levels including this situation where the information was very carefully selected while pertinent information was intentionally left out. Let this amazing young man get on with his life in which I know he is going to do amazing things!

I understand that threats are taken seriously in the world we live in today but Devon don't deserve this punishment! Ask anyone that knows Devon he would never hurt anyone! It was a dumb joke there was no real danger to anyone! Free my brotha dev! We are all here for you homie ! Much love !

I know that threats shouldn't be taken likely but i know devon personally hes a good kid that enjoys his life by doing hobbies like skateboarding with his friends causing no harm at all he might say things that he doesnt really mean because of how young and emotional he can be but he would never do such a thing he's only 15 years old he has his whole life in front of him and he has so many people and family that would be devastated knowing that he can have a regular life that he deserves like the others personally i think that he cant have his life

Devon made a poor choice in the words he chose. He was joking after being called a terrorist. I am so glad social media was not around my teen years because we'd all be in jail. Media only showed one comment that was made and not entire conversation including him saying he was joking. Those who were part of the conversation knew him and knew he was joking. The person who decided to only share that comment obviously was being malicious themselves. Devon is a good kid. Like all of us we have done some dumb things over the years . Let Devon go home to his mother where he belongs.
