Was there last summer and access roads were a disgrace. Quite dangerous in some spots. Villages are very pretty and more would visit if roads were improved.

And the biggest laugh is that when you manage to negotiate all the potholes and keep the car on the road, thay stick a speed van at the end of the road to nab you in case your actually manage to drive over the speed limit!!! What a laugh at our expense!

Its going to be 3 or 4 years at least before that bridge is open. The road needs to be surfaced now to hold it together until bridge is built. Are the authorities waiting for a fatality to justify this work??

I drive this road regularly and have had to make several evasive manoeuvres to avoid the severe pot holes with the potential risk of wheel damage and sudden tyre deflation.

I met a traffic corps officer last night. I asked: "if I drove at 10kmph on an 80kmph road, in order to save my car from damage from potholes, would this be considered obstruction and therefore illegal" He said it would. I asked: "If I swerve suddenly across the centre line to avoid a pothole, would it be illegal" and again, he said it would. So, the law forces you to drive into potholes and cause damage to your car! The department needs to repair urgently or start paying for the damage being caused to vshicles that drive this road!

Unfortunately I think its only a matter of time before we have a fatality on this stretch of road, its incredibly dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. Such an important link, such a busy road and yet its a mess.

Please ask the election candidates when they call , "Where does the revenue from our car tax go ?" Because it certainly does not go into fixing our roads!!!!
Only last week I paid €80 for a new tyre due to a pothole tearing the wall of my tyre on the Boher road which is an utter disgrace in my opinion!

An extremely dangerous state - apart from the damage it's caused to vehicles - and will be more of a problem financially to the Council if someone is injured or killed as a result of this negligence by them.

Road is currently not merely uncomfortable to drive it is dangerous especially when wet and damaged areas obscured by water. Cannot be left to 'bridge works' timeframe. Someone will be seriously hurt/killed.

the road is a disgrace as are most of the roads in the country, I'm paying €190 every 3 months on road tax but i suppose Irish water need it more than the infrastructure of our country

For such a busy road please respect the drivers and there cars that use it by giving them an up to standard one.
