This is a petition that makes business sense. Every dollar spent attracting film production for the state of Florida and is unlike other expenditures. It actually increases investment from out of state and creates jobs directly in our own. Dollars spent here have a profound and concrete return for our economy. Please, other states know the truth of this and are stealing our industry by knowing this simple truth. Failure here will allow Georgia to continue profiting from our lack of action. Thank you.

If you don't save the Florida Television and Film Industry in this special session, you can kiss the industry good bye. I haven't worked here locally in YEARS, and it is not because I've grown old, fat, and ugly, and lost my ability to perform. My mailbox no longer is filled on a daily basis with film opportunities in Florida. It is filled with opportunities in Georgia, Louisiana, and places beyond. I've lost count of the number of people I know who have left this state, to move to where the work is. I think it is easier to count the people I know who are still here... there are very few.

I've driven 500 miles each way twice in the last 6 weeks to work on films in GA because FL turns away the business and the jobs. Let's bring them home and keep me home!

Please, please, please look at what is going on in Georgia 1.2billion production surge that resulted in over 5billion dollars being put back into the Georgia economy. Or look at Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, California, North Carolina - all realize what a benefit tax credits and tax incentives can be to their states coffers. Not to mention the exposure for our state's tourism industry. This is a no-brainer, please don't let politics and right wing organizations from creating high paying jobs and and influx of new money into our state.

I was a sr executive at Hallmark Entertainment, responsible for hundreds of award-winning amily friendly films. And come from a family that has been in the entertainment business for three generations. I now live in Florida and have numerous projects that would employ hundreds of talented Floridians in high-paying jobs. Supporting this initiative will do wonders to nourish a vital sector of Florida's economy.
Respectfully yours,
KC Schulberg

To hold the future of thousands of jobs in your hands is a huge responsibility. Add in the untold positive exposure to Florida and that impact on tourism - simply a winner. Please keep the future Flippers and Gentle Bens and their cinematic movie cousins alive and do the right thing for Florida!
