I oppose discrimination on requiring acupuncturist to achieve a certain English standard in order to have their license. Fluent English is NOT required to perform acupuncture procedure thus should not be considered as a part of judging an acupuncturist‘s ability. This regulation is discriminating against the Chinese community and it will not be tolerated.

反对对中医针灸实行过于严厉的英文评合的歧视性政策。

Everyone whose first language is not English already had to take an English test (such as IELTS) to attend the Acupuncture School/College. Probably those English tests will have already expired when the student has to apply to the Provincial Exams. First of all, it does not make sense to not accept test scores older than four years, since the Acupuncture Education is in English. This proposed regulation only adds stress to the applicant, who should be focusing on the practical aspects of the Acupuncture Exam, and not trying to prove their English proficiency one more time. Besides that, there is the stress of extra financial cost and the safety issues when retaking this type of Exam in the middle of the epidemic we are living right now. The details and timing of the proposal is inconsiderate to everyone working to finish their studies in Acupuncture at this moment.

TCM should be educated and developed by Chinese! Support keep TCM education, exam and practice by Chinese format!

If a person can pass the Acupuncture exam in English, I would consider their English is sufficient to practice Acupuncture. Extra English requirements is costly, not efficient, not fair, and doest not benefit or encourage TCM and Acupuncture development in Alberta and in Canada.

Support acupuncturist against discrimination Policy

It is not fair that just require the high school diploma to get in Chinese’s medicine school , it should be college degree , all chinese acupunctuer have master degree . The authority only put high requirement for chinese acupuncture , not native English people , this is not fair at all. It will effect medical service quality too.

I understand that English language is important to Acupuncturists in their daily operations. However, the policy must consider fairness. I don't think high school education would be equal to IELTS 6.0. Perhaps IELTS 5.0 is a better idea.

Please stop discriminative proposal. Education is more important. Please increase the gate of entry level to university education!

If English is a must, then accupunture shouldn't be allowed in the first place.

Please support the full opening of Chinese medicine acupuncture in Alberta

This requirement is so ridiculous !! It will only stop the practice of the very experienced chinese acupuncturists,who may not speak as fluently as Canadian borned BUT AS LONG AS THEY CAN COMMUNICATE with the clients and help them understand the process, that should be adequate!
