Community Petition To FUESD Board of Trustees Re: Superintendent Search

End corruption in the school districts! Do the right thing board members!

We need a Superintendent who is familiar with our Community.

We want you to complete the extensive search and hire process for a new superintendent!!

Allow the professional evaluators to reach a rational conclusion free from the influence of outsiders. Unqualified people have no place on the candidates list. Charter schools have no accountability and have been shown to drain taxpayer money from public accredited schools. They are a sham.

It would be wonderful in Fallbrook, where the majority of K-12 students are Latino, to have a Superintendent who can speak to ALL parents and students in the language they are most comfortable with. In that position you want someone who can hear first handle from everyone their needs and desires. It would also be GREAT to have someone who is familiar with organizations like CABE that have done so much for diverse students in California. With over 200 Latino superintendents already in California I know they can find the right person, if they have that as a goal.

We recently found a bullet at LOE and no preventative measures were taken or considered. Safety for all should be everyone’s first priority.

The students of FUESD and the community of Fallbrook deserve a highly qualified, highly educated and experiences Superintendent who will lead with equity in mind.

We need to respect the diversity of our community and foster an environment where all children learn the value of critical thinking and the importance of science. The schools superintendent needs to be a seasoned professional strong enough to keep political and religious turbulence from buffeting our schools and hurting our kids.

Don't allow a vocal minority to control the process.

Protect our future! Hire an experienced, qualified candidate for our kids and our community.

Pick a qualified person who will stay the course, not leave in a year. Candidate must be bi-lingual.

I have already signed the petition. The FUESD trustees must honor the qualifications as set forth in the district’s job description and which were the consensus of community hearings. Being a nice teacher or just having an advanced degree are insufficient and unacceptable. The search firm is highly regarded and experienced. I urge the board to honor the process in place when selecting the next superintendent.

The Comunity of Fallbrook requires a bilingual Spanish and English super intendant who must be approved by parents with students in Fallbrook elementary schools.

My 3 kids went to Fallbrook schools from kindergarten through high school. I taught in the district for more than a decade, and can testify that a good, qualified Superintendent makes a good school district. Board members are SUPPOSED to be non-partisan, so they need to put their personal politics aside and step up and do this RIGHT.

This school district has a long history of a positive partnership between the school board and the people it serves. Please maintain that partnership with a transparent and inclusive process for finding the next superintendent. Include teachers on your interview panel. We are on the frontline and know the qualities in a leader that would suit the needs of our students and families best.

Education is meant to increase your knowledge, not limit it.
