That there even has to be a petition for this is disgusting. Shame on the YRDSB.

Example after example of the true politics of the YRDSB have been making itself apparent over the last year - from a case of blatant, public racism at RGSS that administration ignored, forcing students to go to the media instead, to the VICE-PRINCIPAL of St. Robert's being charged with sexual assault, to this, and more - and what about all the cases and instances and daily violence that don't get media attention? There is clearly a set of systemic problems at all levels that have been purposefully neglected and desperately need addressing. As someone educated at schools under the YRDSB I and my peers were repeatedly the victims of sexual harassment, racism, classism, and ableism that we were either too afraid to report or were ignored when we did report them. This won't stand.

Racist language has no place in schools. Nancy Elgie and the Director of the YRDSB should resign or be removed to send a strong message that racism will not be tolerated.

Disappointed that it was said. I am a forgiver, but in this case, it shows her true politics, sadly.

You are too intelligent and too old to be able to beg off such an unacceptable act. Resign, you are not fit for the job.

Ew. Can't trust a trustee who uses racial slurs.
