Your institution has been duly informed about a serious mistake that will tarnish its integrity if this egregious misrepresentation is made. I, for one, will lose all respect for the entire institution if it proceeds with this sheer ignorance! Please make sure a portrait of the Original Nine (aka "The Magic Nine"), particularly one with visionary founder Maurice White, is used in the installation. Thank you.

There would be no earth wind and fire without Maurice, nor the original members of the band.
Please don’t distort Maurice sacred vision and his belief in numerology, which is part of the reason why there were 9 members!

We do appreciate and acknowledge the changes over the years and the status of the group to-date however "The Classic 9" would be the best representation of Earth Wind & Fire for posterity.

Played and arranged on several Earth, Wind, and Fire albums and to NOT include the founder and leader of the group, Maurice White, is a travesty.

Under no circumstances should there be a portrait without it's classic 9 together. Not just 3 members, ALL 9 Maurice, Fred, Verdine White brothers, Philip Bailey, Johnny Graham, Larry Dunn, Andrew Woolfolk, Al McKay, Ralph Johnson.

Smithsonian... C'mon. Why is this even an issue? I don't want to have a discussion with my grandson to explain that this portrait is only one third complete.
