You would be the first to jump up and down if someone else was doing this. Set an example!

This site is environmentally ultra-sensitive and any building proposal must be available for public scrutiny and comment before approval. Whatever the legal position, WWF/HK must in all faith arrange for an independent environmental impact assessment.

It is notable that all responses avoid the issue of an EIA for the PSFSC. Why?

Need transparency on the demolition plan and the substitute solution. So far my impression of the WWF HK management is very bad, too bureaucratic, cumbersome application for visiting, especially for overseas visitors. Expensive too. Looks like run by a privileged few who have no broad vision to run the facility.

Peter Scott remains open to visitors to the end of this bird migration season and to April 2019. WWF has held two rounds of stakeholder briefings / meetings during concept design on Peter Scott and will hold a further round of meetings / information sharing after Chinese New Year. Register for information by sending your details to [email protected]. All our WWF team and our architects efforts are on delivering a BEAM standard with necessary sustainable features and designs. Throughout the building work commencing in 2019 our commitment is for the Mai Po Reserve to remain open to visitors. We will update stakeholders , our members , local community. The EIA and consultation is in process for the footpath and tower hides to be built in 2020. The report will be out after CNY.

WWF Hong Kong Peter Scott Field Studies Centre at Mai Po , both visitor centre and car park remain open and will continue to welcome visitors to April 2019 and to the end of this year’s bird season. WWF has had two rounds of consultation with the local community , John and other groups and will update on the latest sustainable features Peter Scott detailed design, arranging update consultations after Chinese New Year.
