Dear Mr. Coverstone:

We, the undersigned parents, fully support East End Preparatory’s application to expand services from elementary to elementary and middle school (K-8). At East End Preparatory, we know from experience that our children are met with positivity and possibility each day they walk through the doors – opportunities to learn, to succeed, to explore their talents, gain confidence, and engage with each other. More than just a school, East End Preparatory is a community, one in which the school leader, Mr. Leckrone, and his staff welcomes each and every family to join them in providing the best education possible for our children. Staff are skillful and intentional and Mr. Leckrone has successfully led East End Preparatory through its first three years of operation, with outstanding results, proving all children can and will succeed given the right environment and premier classroom instruction.

East End Preparatory promotes a culture where accountability and kindness walk hand in hand. By adding 6-8th grades East End Preparatory will be able to extend this culture through the middle school years, allowing our students to successfully transition to high school and college opportunities. We ask that you mindfully consider this request to help our children continue to excel, to help the children who will walk in their path as future scholars, and to provide more opportunity for Nashville parents and their families. This petition reflects our support among the families and scholars of East End Preparatory School K-8.

I have 1 scholar at EEP. I'm so grateful to the staff, families, and the choice to have a high quality public school option for my kids and all the kids in the area. Allowing EEP to expand will allow for a strong pathway for families and students who want this type of school choice.

Although very supportive of charter schools in general, I had the opportunity to chaperone an East End Scholar's birthday party -- and each child was amazing! I am proud and honored to be supporting this expansion.

I thoroughly enjoy EEP and their staff and I know my kids do too. It would be great if my kids could attend this school through 8th grade and transition straight to high school. The fact that the teachers give out their cell phone numbers in order to contact them directly with any questions is definitely a plus.

It would mean so much to add grades 6th through 8th grade to EEP. Fora scholar to grow from kindergarten to 8th grade (for most) will guide them through and prepare for high school rather them bounce around.

As a homeschool mom, I had really high standards for East End Prep to meet--they have provided a truly exemplary kindergarten experience for our youngest child. Definitely would urge you to approve middle school grades for the school.

EEP is a great schools where the teachers actually care about the students not just test scores and a paycheck. My son benefits from the small classes as well as te one on one time that each student is privy to. Staying within the EEP family gives me no doubt my son will do amazingly in high school as well as college.
