Closing the school would b terrible. I went to Del Obispo and would love my kids to go there too. It's a place where ones childhood memories begin. Lifelong friends are made. Why would this ever be an option. To close down the school and turn it into something it is not makes no sence. I for one would hate to see that happen.

My niece's son and others need stability, community, and less disruption during these formative years.

I am an original dragon. I started kindergarten at del obispo in 1974 the first year it opened voted on the mascot in 3rd grade stayed in the area so my children could carry on the tradition of being dragons. We do not need the added traffic a charter school will bring I think it's terrible to close a neighborhood school where so many kids can walk to it just to open a charter school

My children either go or will go to Del Obispo and will eventually feed into Marco. Such a shame if the decision is to move forward with this closure,

This school has one of the most diverse student populations in the district. How CUSD would even consider closure is astonishing.

Del Obispo School, is much needed in our community. This school provided my children with a great foundation of Education during their formative years. Closing this school will not only cause grief on parents and locals, but the Boys and Girls Club which is located next door . Save Del Obispo!

I hope that the school board will visit Del Obispo and Marco at dismissal time to see first hand what a problem and potential safety hazard adding 700 commuter students to our area would cause.
In addition when you look at the fact that 47% of our students are economically disadvantaged students the potential move to a school not in walking distance will cause undo hardship.

This is a fine neighborhood school with a long tradition. Many lower income kids attend this school. It will be a burden on their families to close the school forcing them to travel farther for school each day.
