I was one of the original Del Obispo Dragons attending K-6, then continuing on to Marco Forster Jr. High. I am now a teacher, and a parent. I have seen schools become charter schools in the district that I teach in with great success. However, the schools that were chosen to make the change were poorly performing schools or schools experiencing declining enrollment. It does not seem that Del Obispo meets either of those criteria. Del Obispo is also unique in the way that it neighbors with Marco Forster Middle School. I am sure that the district can find a better location to house a charter school.

I am just hearing about this. Is there some reason that the current students would not be able to continue to attend the same location? Is there a reason Del Obispo is being chosen for closure? Can Kinoshita absorb more children? Thank you for info. I am trying to understand the whole picture.

That is a great school it would be a disaster if they close at school. The community there would lose out on many memories keep that school open

I am an alumni of Del Obispo, my niece & nephew go to this school & I hope to have my children go here. This is a great school, closing it would be disastrous not only to the children but the future of the town and our community. Great schools are the major factor that attract families & business to the town. If Del Obispo is closed, the community will suffer and lead to the decline of the town/city

Leave Del Obispo a public school as it was designed. Our tax dollars opened it. Let the Charter school build their own facility.

They can't close this school! All my friendships from my amazing Elementary school experience, I still have today rooting from the fact that I transitoned to local schools. I loved being a Dragon and always will be!

Del Obispo had a strong school community and provides an excellent education for students. Additionally, the students benefit immensely from having their middle school right next door. If the charter school is already working with the school in Aliso Viejo, then why not convert that school into a charter school?

Art is a beautiful thing and should remain intact at Del Obispo Elementary School. I've seen designed ceramic tiles at other schools and it is a piece of school history and family.

Me & my brother & sister attended Del Obispo, now my children are proud students. It is just wrong to close our school. Please don't close Del Obispo!

We are new to the area and new to Del Obispo and we could not be any happier with this school. It's the best kept secret. It makes more sense for CRA to move to RH Dana.

I have never gone to this school nor have I ever had children there. I have no "skin in the game" but STRONGLY support keeping this school as the wonderful neighborhood asset that it is NO MORE BARCELONA HILLS'!
