Keep Ft. De Russy Volleyball Courts Open

Communities!! NOT corporate greed!!!

Please don’t close the volleyball courts. It is such a welcoming place and great opportunity for locals, tourist, military members to connect. My husband (active dury NAVY) and I went to the volleyball court on a regular basis.

Lots of memories on these courts. Many friendships were made.

The volleyball courts are home to a lot of friendships and it would certainly be sad to see them closed for any time at all.

I love volleyball and support this community. Please do not close the courts and find an alternate location for storage.

This is where I met my best friends when I moved to Hawaii and where I went to play and have fun every weekend. It has brought me so many memories and fun. The courts are not just courts, they are a home for locals and tourists where everyone is one ohana. Please find an alternative storage area!!

There not only volleyball courts, they are the glue that keeps a community together.

Only reason i come to Hawaii 5x a year is because of those 2 courts and the people there

Save the Fort Derussy sand courts for us who use it as a safe place to gather and fellowship together with our friends and families!

I hope Hale Koa’s contractor considers an alternative storage location. The Ohana of Fort Derussy’s volleyball courts welcomed me & my friends w the Aloha spirit a few years ago during our visit from Phoenix. It would be a shame to go a whole year without beach volleyball for all locals and visitors. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

My best times in Hawaii were spent on those courts!! Better than surfing, sailing, snorkeling, or eating.

I have been going to these courts for the past 25 years. It would be a shame to have them be used as a storage spot for construction equipment instead of a nice safe effective place for some wholesome exercise.

I am the one responsible to over a thousand members of Fort DeRussy Beach Volleyball Page on Facebook and indeed, most of it's members are our close friends, locally and from all over the world. This is not just a venue to us, it is our 2nd home. PLEASE KEEP THE COURTS OPEN.

My wife and I enjoy our stays at the Hale Koa specifically for the volleyball courts and local community. The people that play there are very welcoming and it would be a shame for people to loose the opportunity to play there. Sand Volleyball is a rapid growing sport that promotes health and fitness, community, and friendly competition. I hope there is something that can be done to keep the courts alive!

these 2 volleyball courts are not only just volleyball courts but are a regular gathering place for many local people and visitors and part of the culture over many many years. Fort de Russy is a place where ohana and long term friends from Hawaii and all around the world come together to share social values of caring and sharing and truly carry out the Aloha spirit. Its a place where people dont get judged by what they have or own or where they are from-its a place where you feel always welcome and that always brings happiness and energy. If this place will be taken away from the community-long established and valuable friendship groups will fall apart and a big part of the heart of Hawaii will be missing. I have been going to fort de russy since over 15 years and dont want to imagine not being able to go anymore and see my family/friends. No matter how much stress in life i had with school, work or life, this place always gave good energy. machines have no soul and heart and can be stored anywhere.
