This is a beautiful, peaceful place. It would be devastating for Oakmont residents to have any malicious activity to occur. Oakmont Garden Club and previous Clubs have worked tirelessly to maintain DHW. DHW needs protected by all visitors and and our wonderful Oakmont Police.

I am also VERY concerned about turning this nature park into a dog park/off road biking facility. The Borough faces significant potential liabilities unless our insurance coverage is incredibly deep. I have images of kids flying off the trail and crashing below the bluff.

I don't know how this doesn't fall under destruction of public property but, nonetheless, the borough should be able to protect it's assets. I support this petition.

Dark Hollow Woods is a treasured resource that is used by many residents and others for recreation, and should be protected from any form of vandalism and abuse to preserve it's beauty for years to come!

Numerous saplings have been destroyed over the past year. I have witnessed a group of teenagers making a game of swinging from the saplings until they break.

I was surprised to hear about young citizens destroying young trees in our park. Nature is fragile as it is and such behaviors endanger the park that we love. I would hope that all would respect our enclave, but it is quite cleR this will not happen on its own. Therefore, I ask that the council make destruction of our little forest a crime. As to invasive species, I do not know why or how someone would introduce them into our forest.
