There should be a ban on DJs. Our traditional instruments should be carried forward. DJs cause a lot of trouble to many, such as animals, elderly people, and children. DJ culture is not a part of Maharashtra’s tradition. We must preserve and promote the culture of our traditional instruments.

I am signing this petition to express my disregard towards using Dolby and DJ systems during Ganesh Festival as well as any other cultural celebrations that are public. My main concerns according to my experience for all these years are as follows:
1. The songs that are played over the Ganesh Festival and other festivals on DJ are abnoxious and disrespectful towards the God's we dearly worship and celebrate. The cultural significance is losing on account of drunk dancing in front of Ganesh Idols.
2. The decible limit is never followed and goes upto hazardous 120dB. DJs playing on Laxmi Road, Tilak Road and Bajirao Road are clearly audible as far as Sujata Mastani. Whereas traditional Dhol Pathaks are limited to the area they are being played.
3. Using DJs was never a part of our culture. There is no emotion of devotion in playing songs over Dolbys and DJs but there is an sense of offering when Dhol Tasha groups practice for days and then offer thier skill to the God's. Moreover, the music which is created by playing Dhol Tasha is bound to certain rhythms that are traditional and devotional in nature itself.
