✍️ Petition to Ban Dolby / DJ / Speaker Walls in Public Festival Processions

Dear Citizens,

Our festivals are meant to be a source of joy, devotion, and cultural pride. But in recent years, the increasing use of Dolby systems, DJs, and giant speaker walls during public processions has caused serious harm to our society.

These sound systems have led to:

  • Severe inconvenience to residents
  • Damage to public and private property
  • Health hazards like hearing loss, stress, and disturbed sleep
  • Complete disruption of traffic and public safety

To address these problems, Kalaawant Trust has prepared a memorandum urging the government to act. In support of this, we are conducting a public signature campaign, and the collected signatures will be submitted to the Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Our Key Demands:
  1. A strict ban on DJs, Dolby systems, and large sound setups during religious and cultural festival processions, anniversaries of great leaders, and public parades.
  2. Promotion of traditional instruments and art forms in processions.
  3. Creation of a regulatory framework to effectively control noise pollution.

We strongly believe that festivals can and should be celebrated with devotion, discipline, and dignity — without harming citizens or the environment.
