FBI Director James Comey has irresponsibly politicized the FBI and inserted himself and the FBI into the election at the tail end of the 2016 presidential campaign process.Whether or not he intended to influence the election, these communications regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails did influence voters. His initial letter to Congress that he was reopening this investigation, and his more recent letter that he has found no new evidence, both came perilously close to the end of this election process and altered the trajectory of the campaign -- all when the upshot was that nothing has changed. Director Comey handled this situation carelessly and in a manner that overstepped the bounds of his office. We have no confidence in his leadership of the FBI, and expect him to resign his post.
