We are submitting our petition to Barbara Lee, the representative of the U.S congressional district.

Minorities are unevenly spread throughout California colleges, causing uneven race populations throughout California. Affirmative action is positive discrimination, letting in a underrated minority. We can't have affirmative action because of proposition 209. Proposition 209 is apart of the California Constitution, stating it is illegal to discriminate a person because of their race, gender, or ethnicity in a school. Even though this seems like a good idea in the moment, it causes issues, like uneven race populations and causing a lot of minorities to not be able to get accepted into a college. This would cause many minorities to go to a undereducated college, and eventually get a mediocre job. Affirmative action needs to come back, as we need more minorities in better colleges.

The goal of this project is to get rid of proposition 209. We want there to be a more diverse colleges, to give minorities more job experiences. We want to send this petition to Barbara Lee, Congresswoman of the 13th District of California, to null Proposition 209. To do this we ask that you make the colleges let in more diverse minorities if they meet the requirements for the college. There should be a number of students of different diversities that go to one college, so the problem of not having all the same race at one college happens anymore.

Prop 209 is totally outdated and unfair. We need to actually look at the whole person when they apply.

This policy hurts way too many students. It really needs to go away so everyone gets a fair shot at a good education.
