As a friend of the Caddo people and a student of Native American culture I feel it is impairative that they be represented as who they are and not by a false narrative of a compilation of tribal groups that had no bearing on the Caddo culture. There are plenty of living artists who would be able and willing to reproduce the cultural items that are unique to their culture. I have always disliked exhibit that are not true to the group's they represent. You have a wonderful opportunity to do this right and I look forward to seeing it when it is complete with the contributions of the LIVING CADDO PEOPLES.

This unfortunate restart for Caddo Mounds SHS is a great opportunity to team with the Caddo Nation and artists to create an accurate and respectful exhibit.

Please use only authentic Caddo items for display. And give our Caddo artist that are world renown the chance to guide you and display their work.

This is an important request and I'm appalled that it hasn't been addressed before.

A Caddo historical site should present and interpret Caddo Culture sensitively and appropriately in consultation with Caddo people.

I am a professional archeologist with 20 years of experience in the Caddo Area. The the Texas Historical Commission has an incredible opportunity to more accurately represent the ancient people of the region by partnering with the Caddo people. Working with living Caddo artists and experts in the reset of the Caddo Mounds State Historical Site will lend authenticity, accuracy, and help properly honor the cultural lineage of those who lived, worked, and made it a special place. Thank you for protecting this place, and seeking to educating the public in as authentic voice as possible.

Make the exhibit as good as it should be- consult with the Caddo and support their artisans in crafting materials for the exhibit.

I generally get nervous about petitions these days, but this seems like it should be self-evident, both as a matter of respect and a matter of historical accuracy.

There is so much known by and about the Caddo regarding their prehistory and history that there is no reason not to consult with members of the tribe and others. Any exhibit will gain far more than would be expended to do so.

The Caddo should be consulted for any and all displays at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site. Please consider revising this project to include the Caddo.

The living Caddo people should be included in the creation of the museum that is suppose to be representing their history and culture. Thank you.

As an archeologist that has studied the native history of the Caddo peoples for much of my 46+ year career. Please take seriously this petition and consult with appropriate Caddo Nation people and artists about exhibits and exhibit contents at Caddo Mounds SHS.

The Caddo Nation should have correct cultural exhibits made by their artists. They should have the input needed to represent their culture.
