Jews live in Israel for over 3000 years. They are the natives of that area. Arabs expelled the Jews thousands of years ago. The Jews just took back their land. Muslims and Christians own much more countries. That some religions/folks were allowed to own several countries for thousands of years and Jews not even one, was always a mirror image and proof of antisemitism.

This is the definition adopted by the United states and most major democratic nations. It would be a good, small start for CUNY to do the same.

Holding Israel to a standard to which no other country is held and or denying self determination to the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland is antisemitism. Is there any other country in the modern era in which the UN facilitated creation that has been called into question? The answer of course is no. So why Israel. The answer is antisemitism.

As a (formerly) proud CUNY graduate, I am deeply disturbed to see my alma mater not only tolerate antisemitism, but now, celebrate it as well. Encouraging hatred against Jews endangers all CUNY students.
