CNR 6218 is a legend, and as such deserves to be treated as such. Future generations would benefit from seeing and understanding this glorious machine from a bygone age in a cosmetically restored and environmentally protected display.

As a founding member of the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, I find it troublesome that the hometown Niagara Railway Museum, with its indoor facility, is not being fully considered. Over the years, I have corresponded with NRM and am very impressed with their determination and ability. NRM represents the best of all possibilities for 6218. It is very close, so moving expenses would be as low as possible. It has indoor storage and knowledgeable, well connected members. The 6200s were no strangers to Fort Erie.
FERM has had 48 years to get their act together. Sorry, but if it hasn't happened by now, it isn't happening.
And Alberta Railway museum... they have no indoor space, the 6200s have no connection to Alberta, and the moving cost would be astronomical. As much respect as I have for ARM, sending 6218 there is a ridiculous idea.

Its a shame to see this significant artifact slowly detriate by it surrent care takers. We are all care takers of those items left to us, if you don't wish to do the duty, pass it on to some oelse willing and able. This is not a me first contest, its the care of some thing precious to pass to future generations.

Let’s keep this beautiful piece of history in Niagara and re home it to The Niagara Railway Museum where she can be properly sheltered and displayed for the generations ahead to enjoy.

I absolutely support the Niagara Railway Museum's efforts to get this locomotive stored indoors for cosmetic restoration.
