Modernizing and restructuring Coolidge has very significant and innovative support that would especially benefit the surrounding community and the DCPS secondary school program as a whole. The NAF Academy of Health Sciences has the potential to make a difference in the lives of countless students and their families as it can lead to a wide variety of employment opportunities as well as further education. It is important to note that, just a few blocks away on the Walter Reed campus, the Children's National Medical Center research laboratories and the Howard University Ambulatory Care clinic will open and provide important internship and employment opportunities.
Another critical reason to modernize and restructure Coolidge is the urgent need for a middle school in the northern part of Ward 4.
The positive, significant impact and multiplier effect for the Ward, the City and DCPS of these two factors could not be clearer.

The school's in a great location for this, close to NIH, FDA and a metro stop to get to anywhere else.
