I owe my entire professional journalism career to Professor Cassandra Wynn. She is one of the first people I call every time I do something new in my career. To not renew her is unconscionable because she should have tenure.

Ms. Wynn was one of my mentors while at JCSU. She built in me a strong work ethic and a passion for knowledge. Over the years she has created some of the most talented professionals that Smith has ever seen. Her love for what she does can be seen as tough love, but it prepared us for what we would face. Renew her contract and you will be bringing back the backbone of the Communication Arts Department -- and Johnson C. Smith as well.

I cannot speak about my collegiate career without mentioning Professor Wynn. She was (and is still) one of the most instrumental figures in my personal and professional life. Her sense of urgency and passion *19 years in* should speak volumes! I am ashamed at those in charge of my department (Comm Arts) for not standing behind her. I am also offended by their treatment of the journalism program over the course of the last few years. I hope that both Comm Arts and JCSU realize how valuable Professor Wynn is and what an impact she has had. To the current students: I hope that you take some time to truly evaluate not only your education, but the educators as well. I hope that you are constantly challenging yourself and seeking out professors & courses that push you. To the alumni (including myself): We must be more involved!

Ms. Wynn is one of the few professors at JCSU that I feel played a vital role in my development to become a professional in the communications field. To not bring Ms. Wynn back is to fail the Communications Department. Listen to the voices of the STUDENTS and think about what those who are PAYING to attend JCSU want!
