The club confirmed they are naming the family zone after Bradley and it is honestly hard to find the words to express how incredible this feels. This only happened because you all cared enough to speak up for such a wonderful boy. I am just a person who started a …

5 year old Bradley Lowery has stolen hearts around the world with his brave battle against neuroblastoma. Having been diagnosed at the age of two, Bradley has faced this awful disease with a smile and a love of life which has been both heart warming and heart breaking. Thanks to the exceptional efforts of his family and an ever growing network of friends, awareness of Bradley's fight has spread throughout the world.

A Sunderland fan, Bradley has received love, wishes and donations to his cause from Everton, whose club and supporters have gone above and beyond what could ever be expected to help in his hour of need, from Newcastle, from Chelsea who helped make one of his dreams come true as he scored at the stadium of light, from supporters of clubs throughout the world. He's also received support and love from Sunderland AFC, Jermain Defoe must surely count as a close personal friend!

With the sad news that his cancer has spread and that treatment is unlikely to be successful, efforts are underway to ensure that little Bradley has a magical Christmas in which a lifetime of memories are made. This petition calls for Sunderland AFC, who have already done so much, to consider naming their popular family zone at the Stadium of Light after Bradley in recognition of his bravery, his spirit and the inspiration he has given to millions.

A member of the Sunderland family, a member of the wider football family, a young boy who has touched so many, who has made us all hug our children that little bit closer and who has reminded us all that football is only a game, insignificant in the great scheme of things but that it can be so much more, can mean so much more and can do so much good. A boy who, with his family, has faced a nightmare with a smile, hardship with an iron will and has been a shining light in the darkness. The Stadium of Light would be brightened by his name being forever a part of its very fabric and there is no more fitting area to bear his name than the family zone. Please sign this petition to show your support and let's begin a dialogue with the club to see if brave young Bradley can officially unveil the new name, his inspiration recognised and his brave fight boosted. Thank you for reading.

Let's make this happen. I appreciate that there are so many other children out there suffering from this awful disease but the way in which people, the city and club have come together to support this liytle lad is truly remarkable and a reminder to us all of what a difference we can make together.

As a family club this would be a fitting gesture to name the family zone with Bradley's name never forgetting this little man with the big smile who has touched many many people through the north east, the UK and the many countries around the world

Bradley has stole the hearts of the Sunderland fans and indeed fans of various clubs across the world. Sadly despite the efforts of many the money raised wasn't enough to save this brave little boy. The honour, bravery and integrity of Bradley and his family should be recognised and never forgotten.
