Boston and Cambridge's cultural communities will long be in Billy's debt. He will never be forgotten by those who met him.

No one has single-handedly had more on an impact on making Central Sq. the cultural and musical center of Cambridge than Billy Ruane. If he did nothing but book rock shows in the back room of a middle eastern restaurant back in the 80's, he would be legend but, as anyone who has spent more than 10 seconds with Billy would realize, that is just the beginning of an influence that is still being felt today.

Billy was such a larger than life figure and was instrumental in creating what would become one of the largest music scenes in the nation.
He should be posthumously honored for his work and passion.

the only plausible argument against this dedication would be that Billy Ruane could not be contained within one city block and thus, Cambridge is being renamed. Until that day, do this.

No Billy Ruane, and Central Square is still the ugly, to be avoided ghetto it was prior to 1988. He was the Mayor of Central Square.

Billy Ruane was my Uncle and I would love to see his memory represented in this way. He loved the music scene in Boston and hearing artists share their passion!

Push this through. Future generations need to know who Billy was and what he did for the local music scene!
