I signed for higher QUALITY education for all students. Increasing the number of students in a class WILL decrease the quality of education. 25 is already too high.

The district has always maintained a goal to return class size to 20:1 in grades K-3. To see the district push to increase class sizes even further is very disheartening. Anyone that works or has worked in education will tell you that class size is a significant factor in ones ability to meet the needs of every student in a class.

As a teacher myself I know 20+ in the classroom poses many problems. Larger class sizes mean less time per student, and this is how students fall through the cracks. Minimizing class sizes will help minimize the achievement Gap.

As a New York transplant I already see a huge difference in the quality of education here in California in comparison to New York. To affect our children's education even more so by giving them less attention is wrong. A teacher should not have to check on that many students at once . And a child should not have to feel like I'm number. I strongly believe in the public school system but California needs to step up

Time to hold Board members accountable to the taxpayers of Belmont-Redwood Shores. On November 4, 2014, thousands of community members voted to pass the Measure I Bond to prevent overcrowding and increased class size for our students. The Bond specifically states that “…the Board of Trustees determines that the District must: (iv) prevent classroom overcrowding and increased class size to ensure the high quality of education at all of our schools” (page B-1, Measure I Bond Language passed by voters on November 4, 2014). Visit http://www.brsfa.org/inform. Now more than 2 years later, our Board has broken with our community. Email the Board to demand that they uphold Measure I and a 25:1 cap: (1) Robert Tashjian - [email protected], (2) Huan Phan - [email protected], (3) Suvarna Bhopale - [email protected], (4) Charles Velschow - [email protected], and (5) Amy Koo - [email protected].

I urge teachers and parents in our BRSSD to continue the fight to maintain CAPS, not averages, on class size. Our children deserve better than "average". Signed, a former CIPRIANI mom and 30 year resident/tax payer.

Class sizes should be 20 students, but I support a cap at 25.

K-5th should never be more than 20:1. Not enough teacher to teach with more kids than that. 15:1 would be ideal

Too many students by contract and new Common Core Material to learn and differentiate is a great deal to ask any teacher !

On top of the language in the petition, voters approved a Bond measure in Nov, 2014 to support expansion for our growing district. This was all based on 25:1 caps in TK-3. Language exists to support this. Let's hope fraud charges aren't filed too. Do the the right thing BRSSD! Honor 25:1 caps.

Districts must honor class size mandates. As a former classroom teacher, I clearly understand how class size affects the quality of education.

they will keep asking for more and more. Show these teachers the respect that they deserve. keep class size down so the value of an education can rise.

In order to differentiate instruction, develop quality lessons and meet the needs of our students we need the district's support. Capping enrollment at 25 is an important part of supporting the students enrolled in our classes. BRSSD has to keep student interest at the forefront of the decision making process.

Class sizes should stay low for the benefit of the student and to retain good teachers.

I've been fortunate enough to assist in kinder and 1st grade class, and I can tell you from first hand experience that even 25:1 is pushing the limit of what in the best interest of our children...

The district's goal is 20:1?
