Very important for 2 reasons
1. Safety - the condition of the Paynesville is appalling. I ride it both ways several times a week. The shoulders are in terrible condition, exacerbated by the deterioration in the road surface
2. Tourism - What an experience to ride along the river and/ or wetlands. Great for visitors to our region and a great link to the Rail Trail
Can I suggest modelling it on the Eastlink track - it’s 3 metres wide which allows multiple users and safe overtaking

My cycling friends and I are always on the lookout for safe accessible bike routes in regional Victoria. A trail like this would encourage us, and likeminded people, to visit the local area and do what we love- ride!

The Paynesville Road is fast becoming a freeway and the shoulder is ridiculously narrow in places. AND driver etiquette is NOT improving...

Long overdue & can only be an asset to our beautiful region. This road is getting busier each year & a cycle path is the logical answer to protect lives.

This road is very dangerous at the best of times with car users. The edges are uneven and cycling along it is extremely frightening. Many commuters as well as cycling enthusiasts have no other options. Completely support this petition.

A designated bike path would enhance public health, tourism, reduce traffic, and be a wonderful asset to the region, especially linking with the Oebost Rail Trail.
