Broussard Middle School (much like every other school) uses 4.7 pounds of plastic per person in just one day. That is roughly 1200 pounds each day. So we want to limit that using by enforcing the usage of plastic alternatives. Such as cardboard milk cartons at lunch rather than plastic. Just the lunchroom alone uses 30,000lbs of plastic a year. And recycling bins at almost every corner or in every room. But also limit the usage of plastic wrap (since their isn't many alternatives for that. And also saving plastic jugs and such in the science classrooms for projects, instead of just throwing it out and using new ones the next project.
