Allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in New Brighton, MN

ADU's are being approved all over the US. This would be a wonderful addition to the city of New Brighton.

I’d love this for my aging father some day.

My mom is 88-yrs old and has been in her house in NB 61 years. Would love to be able to add an ADU to the backyard for one of us to live in so she could stay.

ADU should be allowed. It's important to give space for homeowners looking for creative solutions to either care for aging parents, or to supplement income particularly at a time when housing options are limited.

This would be a big step forward in addressing the housing crisis.

We need units such as these so people would be more able to age in place WITH family members vs the loneliness and expense of moving to senior "living".

This would be a decent way for people to help out adult children who don't have the money to get a place of their own, and elderly parents who need care. And could actually help alleviate the local housing shortage.

Making space for aging family members or growing families seems like a very community-strengthening thing.

They would be great if in backyard.

Our community should be encouraged to help take care of our aging family, not deal with outdated rules. Please consider updating this rule.

I think tiny houses are more economical and are the way of the future. People should be allowed to build them.

Allowing ADUs would expand residents' options for multi-generational housing, let's make it happen, New Brighton!

ADU's could be such a boon to a community. Families could house a senior with privacy for all, provide a small independent place for a recent college graduate who has high student loan debt. A home for a live in nanny. We need to promote all the "outside the box" ideas . Better living for all.
